Fire Pattern Analysis Methodology
Fire patterns are critical data in fire investigations and are the foundation on which fire investigators determine the origin and, at times, the cause of a fire. The ability to discern fire patterns from fire effects is an analytical process which leads to testable hypotheses about those patterns and their significance. The use of a fire pattern analysis methodology ensures that fire investigators are collecting appropriate data, analyzing that data, and then drawing accurate conclusions. In this course, we will discuss fire effects and fire patterns, and a brief four-step fire pattern analysis methodology.
