Frequently Asked Questions - FireCred Courses

Taking A Course
The courses offered by FireCred are self-paced, multiple-lecture presentations. Each lecture within a course varies in length and can be started and stopped at the convenience of the participant. Upon completion of a course, a pass/fail multiple-choice test is provided. Participants must complete all the materials in that course to take the exam. To take get final course certificate you must complete all lectures and take the course exam.

Navigation In the Course
Each course is broken up into individual chapters or “lectures”. The lectures can be taken in order, but the course allows participants to move in and out of topics as necessary. That being said, it is recommended that participants take the lectures in order.

Course Resources
Certain resources may be posted within a course for you to download and read. These are part of the course requirements and it is assumed that you have read these items prior to completing the course. Please note that resources may need to be updated periodically and FireCred may change the attached resources as needed by the curse objectives.

Please direct all secondary reporting inquiries to info@firecred.com. While not a current feature of our platform, at enterprise scale we may be able to build out something that meets your requirements.

General Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. Are certificates provided for partial credit or single lectures within a course? Only one certificate is provided to participants, and that is at the end of the successful completion of all of the lectures and the taking of the course exam. This certificate will reflect successful completion of a certain number of hours of tested training.

2. If I do not complete the course within six months, what happens? Should you be unable to complete the course in six months, no certificate will be issued and access to the lectures will be terminated. Participants would then have to re-register and start from the first lecture should they want to complete the course. In this instance, no credit will be provided for previously completed lectures under the original registration.

3. If I have successfully taken a course, can I take it again? Yes! FireCred encourages our users to continue learning and to stay current by being consistent and re-training on topics already taken.

4. Can a paid registration be transferred from one user to another? Unfortunately, FireCred is unable to transfer a paid registration from one user to another.

5. Are the exams scored or are they pass/fail? Tests are recorded as either “pass” or “fail” and no score will be provided on the certificate. A screen following the automated grading of your exam will show your score. A passing score is 70%.

6. Are exams “open book”? Tests should be taken in accordance with your organization’s integrity standards expected of fire investigation professionals.

7. Can I share course materials or test materials with others in my organization? No, this is expressly prohibited by the FireCred Terms of Service. Tests should be taken in accordance with your organization’s integrity standards expected of fire investigation professionals.

8. Can I copy or record course materials or test materials? No, this is expressly prohibited by the FireCred Terms of Service as the material is copyrighted and the intellectual property of the instructors. Tests should be taken in accordance with your organization’s integrity standards expected of fire investigation professionals.

9. What happens if I fail an exam? Should you fail an exam after completing a course, a second opportunity will be given to retake it. Should you fail the second exam, you will have to restart the course at the first lecture.

10. Can I challenge an exam? We typically do not allow for challenges to the course exam but communication is critical – we will strive to be helpful and responsive. Please reach out to FireCred at info@firecred.com and we will attempt to respond promptly.

11. What can I do if I have a complaint or a concern about a course? FireCred maintains a framework to accept, process, and respond to complaints. Please reach out to FireCred at info@firecred.com with details of your complaint or concern, and we will attempt to respond promptly. This response will typically include a synopsis of the FireCred complaint process.

12. Do you provide refunds? FireCred is unable to offer a refund following purchase of the course.

13. What if I have additional questions regarding course materials? Please reach out to FireCred at info@firecred.com and we will attempt to respond promptly. We cannot guarantee direct access to course instructors but will strive to be helpful and responsive.

Passwords and Accounts
1. How do I reset my password? Please reach out to FireCred at info@firecred.com and we will attempt to respond promptly.

2. I no longer have access to the email that was originally associated with my FireCred account. How can I update this? Please reach out to FireCred at info@firecred.com, explain the situation and provide the new information, and we will attempt to respond promptly. We will need to verify your identity to switch the email on the account.

3. I formed multiple profiles on FireCred and want to merge them into one profile, is this possible? Unfortunately, FireCred cannot merge profiles once they are created.
